While I dislike the term "boutique brokerage", it is in fact an accurate description of how my brokerage fills a needed niche in the real estate marketplace. NW Home Brokers llc isn't out to reinvent the real estate wheel, we just want to true up the spokes a bit. This way we can travel down the road more efficiently and reduce the wobble I see in other real estate brokerage business models.
My name is Brett Tousley and I am the designated broker and owner of NW Home Brokers llc. I started my journey into real estate in 2005 with a large national chain brokerage that was new to my area. At the time, real estate was selling like hot cakes and the market was on fire. Most of my first sales involved bidding wars, many with more than 5 competing offers. I realized quickly that if my clients were going to come out on top, I needed to develop some serious skills. I became a voracious consumer of everything real estate, listening to interviews of top agents around the country, tagging along whenever I could with the local top producers, eaves dropping on the cubicle next door, reading every real estate book I could get my hands on. All that time and energy put into advancing my skills payed off, because shortly after I entered real estate sales...The party was over.
In 2006 high fives between agents walking around our brokerage were replaced by concerned looks and hushed whispers. No longer could you throw a house on the market and just sit back and wait for good things to happen. Buyer's were scarce and the market was plummeting. I saw our once swelling office roster shrink dramatically as agent after agent left the business broke and disillusioned. While those were hard times, it allowed me to learn even more from the grizzled veterans who made it through that market with me.
Those of us that survived became experts at effectively marketing homes, negotiating short sales, listing and selling bank owned properties and I found my love for real estate investors! It was during this time that I began to formulate my vision of a real estate brokerage and I started taking the steps necessary to make it a reality.
I opened NW Home Brokers LLC in August of 2009 and never looked back. Together with my clients and brokers, we've taken my vision of operating a brokerage filled only with highly skilled, full time real estate brokers and made it a reality. I take great pride in knowing that anyone who hires myself or one of my brokers will receive expert real estate advice and service.
